The Best Place to See Chattanooga’s Fall Colors
“Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain
Fall brings out the adventurer in all of us, doesn’t it? There’s just something about the hot summer winds blowing out and the cooler, crisper autumn air moving in that both uplifting and exhilarating. Yes, those lazy, crazy, hazy days of summer are wonderful, but fall puts a jump back in our step and challenges us to “throw off the bowlines,” and “sail away from the safe harbor,” as Twain alludes to.
We here at Southern Belle Riverboat can tell you that there’s no better way to, “explore, dream, and discover,” than to head out on a sightseeing cruise on the beautiful Tennessee River. The sights, sounds, and scenery on our “Fall Foliage” cruises will fill you with awe and wonder. With the sun a little lower in the sky, it shines a brilliant light on downtown Chattanooga, making the city sparkle and shine in a way that’s unique to autumn.
We urge you and your friends, family, co-workers and any other social circle to come on down to Southern Belle and head out on an afternoon or evening sightseeing cruise that will be one of the highlights of your fall. You’ll be blown away by the reds, oranges, yellows, browns, and greens that mix with the powerful blues of both the sky and water to provide a kaleidoscope of colors that are simply breathtaking.
Throughout October, Southern Belle offers various fall foliage sightseeing cruises, from morning cruises, noon cruises, and evening cruises with a choice of eating or not on most cruises. Check out our tour schedule here.
